After watching this masterpiece in all its glory, I wondered why it would be released on Christmas day. Contrasting takes on what makes you jolly, I guess. If so, that makes sense because this is the opposite of cheerful. That said, it’s magnificent.

Outside some skilled acting, I can only imagine my feelings towards this film as being a bit juvenile, somewhat frivolous and often preposterous. It is over the top in almost every scenario that it touches upon.
