What an incredible follow-up to Cooper’s, “A Star Is Born.” Cooper has proven himself to be one of the most skilled individuals in Hollywood. The acting in his second directorial effort, “Maestro,” was astonishing. The makeup was out of this world perfect. A team of forty-six turned Bradley Cooper into Leonard Bernstein.

Going in, I wasn’t expecting one of the most extraordinary yet somewhat disturbing and cringy films I’ve ever seen. The abnormal unpleasantness is why I’d like to suggest, even though I’m describing it this way, that you add this to your must-sees for 2023.

I’ll try and write this review without telling you anything that will ruin it for you. I’ll start by saying this is an epic, one you can’t miss. Curious about what was meant by “Flower Moon,” I looked it up. The Farmer’s Almanac began to name the full moons in the 1930s. The name given by American tribes to the full moon in May was the “Flower Moon.” The flowers blooming across North America, signaled the abundance and the coming of Spring after a cold, hard winter. This is important in this story, but I can’t tell you why.

“Butcher’s Crossing,” not a surprise to discover when you’re only about five minutes in, is a movie based on a Western novel that was written by John Williams. It was initially published in 1960. “Butcher’s Crossing” was John Williams’s second novel.
