This film was so much more than I thought it would be. Going in, I figured, for some reason, since Jesse Eisenberg was both writer and director of this serious yet still humorous movie about cousins touring the land in Poland, seeing Holocaust sites and their grandmother’s house back in Poland, that he wouldn’t be able to handle such a serious plot with the care it needed to be given.

Though there was some redundancy, and you get the feeling that the writing could have left out some talking down to you as if you don’t “get it,” this excellent film was perfectly cast. It’s a tale you’ve been told before, but it shouldn’t be missed.
Do you remember the first time you heard “Live From New York, it’s Saturday Night!” The first person to shout that was Chevy Chase played by (Cory Michael Smith). Now, it’s shouted by the host, musical guest, and all cast members, generally after the cold opening.
