Tucker has been ‘gone’, but now she has returned. But it will also feature Brandi Carlile. So there is a lot you can tell from a movie title. “Black Adam” is larger-than-life Superhero movie, in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Of course, to play larger-than-life, you need someone who IS larger-than-life. Enter Dwayne Johnson, in his first comic book movie adaptation. Based on his size, perhaps the movie could have been called “The Incredible Bulk”. Or based on his earlier roles, “The Scorpion King: Extreme CGI Makeover”.

“Raymond and Ray” is an interesting movie about a dysfunctional family. In movies, are there any other types, other than dysfunctional? Two half-brothers are asked to attend the funeral and the burial of their father. Both of them harbor a deep hatred of the man who birthed them and raised them. Now what will happen when their common ‘enemy’ is gone?
“Stars at Noon” is a movie about wanting to get out — out of the country, as in the case of the young foreigners who find themselves unwanted and alone. They find each other, and then sexual tensions run as high as the humidity in that Central American country. Political actions and pandemic restrictions close them in tighter and tighter. They find that all means of support are taken away, and they must rely on each other. But will the walls close in before they find an escape? Read more
“Halloween Ends” is a violent end to a violent film franchise. Way back in 1978, John Carpenter created a scary little slasher/horror movie. Just like his main character, Michael Myers, this franchise has taken on a life of its own. For the past 44 years, nothing, and nobody, has been able to kill Michael Myers. The same goes for this franchise. But now it Ends…
“The Good Nurse” a dramatic take on true events that could give you chills if you are ever admitted into a hospital. The bureaucratic administrations had allowed, or ignored, many suspicious deaths over a number of years. All of these seemed to be tied to one particular male nurse. Definitely not the “Good” one! “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile” is a movie based on children’s book, and it has been with a lot of energy and creativity. The talent behind the movie is very impressive. Lyle is a singing sensation, doing music created by the same team of songwriters who have composed for “Dear Evan Hansen”, “La La Land” and “The Greatest Showman”. You might call Lyle the crocodile “The Scaliest Showman”.
“Smile” is a movie that thinks you need to turn that frown upside-down. That is, as long as you like vaguely superstitious, unsettling horror movies. Movies such as ‘The Ring’ and ‘It Follows’. Movies that have some unnamed evil presence that gets you in the end. Only in this movie, it’s much more fun – because you get to wear a crazed smile before you die. Read more

This was from the same Writer and Director, with the same leading Star.
