Voyagers Movie Review

“Voyagers” is a movie with science-fiction setting, but at the heart it is about pure deviant psychology. Think about “Lord of the Flies” set on a spaceship, and you get the idea. When a future Earth is facing ruin, the smart people send out a space ship to planet light-years away. The people sent to colonize a new world are raised as obedient sheep. But they won’t stay that way.

The Courier Movie Review

“The Courier” makes for a fascinating story about an ordinary British businessman who became a crucial part of the MI-6 intelligence information gathering system in the early 1960s. Based on true events, this man went into the Soviet Union at a time of increasing international tensions. He was able to befriend a top Soviet source, who was codenamed “Ironbark”. Boogie Movie Review

“Boogie” is movie about growing up with ambitions and expectations that might seem far-fetched. The young high school basketball ball star is from an ethically Chinese background. The Map of Tiny Perfect Things Movie Review

Streaming on Amazon starting February 12, 2021

“The Map of Tiny Perfect Things” is fun little movie that takes the young adult romance concept into a ‘Dr. Who timey-wimey’ direction. This makes for a mostly “Perfect” take on an older movie concept – the Time Loop. Think of “Groundhog Day”, “Edge of Tomorrow”, and (most recently) “Palm Springs” — but for the high school kids.

Minari Movie Review

In select theaters February 12th and On Demand February 26th

“Minari” is a refreshing look at the struggles and triumphs of a family. Originally from Korea, this family immigrated to America to live in L.A. and then relocated to Arkansas. They are seemingly out-of-place in a very rural farm site. But the father’s desire to be a successful farmer is the driving force to keep them together.
