While watching “Mothering Sunday,” I knew that it would be a difficult review. Reading that it was based on a novel, I immediately felt that perhaps it should have remained one for as hard as director Eva Husson tried, she didn’t quite manage to get the story to leap off the page as it seemed too far a stretch.

“The Outfit” is a movie, as it seems, ‘tailor-made’ to display the talents of the main star. Being a British import into 1950’s gangster-infused Chicago, the main character (a professional tailor, pardon me, ‘cutter’) is there to give some suave class to his ‘gentlemen’. Creating all the stylish suits worn by the mobster elite brings a tense situation to his clothing shop late one night…
Something I didn’t know going in was that “Compartment No. 6” is based on Rosa Liksom’s 2011 novel. The film has the same name as the book, though it was initially titled “Hytti nro 6.”
