The Art of Self-Defense Movie Review

ā€‹Riley Stearnsā€™ new film ā€˜The Art of Self-Defenseā€™ could be seen as untoward, almost depraved, because itā€™s so wicked. Donā€™t get me wrong with the words I’ve chosen to describe it. Itā€™s wicked good! It tells the story of a thirty-five-year-old dog owner. Iā€™ll stop there a moment. When you see the movie, youā€™ll see why I did. Read more

Playing with Fire Trailer

Nothing can prepare these elite firefighters for their most challenging job yet: babysitting.

When straight-laced fire superintendent Jake Carson (John Cena) and his elite team of expert firefighters (Keegan-Michael Key, John Leguizamo and Tyler Mane) come to the rescue of three siblings (Brianna Hildebrand, Christian Convery and Finley Rose Slater) in the path of an encroaching wildfire, they quickly realize that no amount of training could prepare them for their most challenging job yet ā€“ babysitters. Unable to locate the childrenā€™s parents, the firefighters have their lives, jobs and even their fire depot turned upside down and quickly learn that kids ā€“ much like fires ā€“are wild and unpredictable.

Stuber Movie Review

ā€˜Stuberā€™ is ridiculousā€¦ in a good way. In the newest buddy cop movie to come out for our viewing pleasure, director Michael Dowse teams Dave Bautista and Kumail Najiani together to create an unusual pairing that, in my opinion, works both visually and auditorially. Is that a word? Anway, anyone who doesnā€™t agree wasnā€™t watching the same movie that I was watching. Read more

Summer Night Movie Review

ā€˜Summer Nightā€™ is the directorial debut of actor Joseph Cross. Learning this made me want to like it more than I did but unfortunately, as I watched all I saw was a film that wanted to be as good as the 1995 ensemble classic, ā€˜Empire Recordsā€™ and desperately longed to be seen as second coming of 1993ā€™s ā€˜Dazed and Confused.ā€™ Read more

The Dead Don't Die Movie Review

The Dead Donā€™t Die Movie Review

There are times when you should ignore the critics and just, based on whoā€™s in it, watch a damn movie. This is one of those times. Is ā€˜The Dead Donā€™t Dieā€™ perfect? Not by any stretch, but you get to sit down and witness an outstanding cast offer you zany jokes about the undead walking around a little town. Itā€™s a zombie film! Read more
