“Anniversary” is part “Carrie” and part “The Hand Maid’s Tale.” It’s a psychological thriller that focuses on the political leanings of the day, cautioning the viewer to see what’s going on before their very eyes, and not to ignore what they see just because nothing bad has ever happened to them before.

​If you miss this, you may be considered a dumb-dum. Hear that in your head as Ted in “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure” would have said it because it’s said in the film in exactly that tone. Vocally, Reeve’s character of angel Gabriel sounds and behaves somewhat like his Ted did. Maybe Gabriel liked the movie? This was simply a joy to watch. The comedic elements really hit the mark.
This movie was much more than I was expecting. Bill Condon brought out the best in these actors; the movie was visually impressive, and everyone involved handled their tasks with ease and skill. Read more
“Ballerina” is a rage-focused, executioner narrative that doesn’t waste time getting to the violence and killing, that’s for sure. It never really stepped away from it, either. ​
