While watching the Netflix limited series’ Hollywood,’ I wondered if any of the characters are based on real people. Having watched and reviewed the documentary ‘Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood,’ about the life of Scotty Bowers from his memoir, ‘Full Service,’ the series seemed to mirror it quite a lot. I couldn’t help but see the comparisons.

To be perfectly frank, ‘The Wretched’ let me down more than anything. With early glimpses at the creature, you can see that the special effects department held up their end of the job. And with so much going into the attempt to scare the hell out of you, you can’t help but assume some terrific plotlines are coming from the writing/directing team of the Pierce Brothers, Drew T. Pierce, and Brett Pierce. Not so fast, thrill-seekers.

This movie is action, action, action. From beginning to end, it doesn’t stop. If you like your action served with a side of the same, it has knives, guns, explosions, and countless cars being turned over or demolished in one way or another. We even see a helicopter blown out of the air. And, of course, there are fights of every size and variety.
